I have seen amazing Hotels in my life, but Lagarta Lodge is really a piece of heaven, located in Nosara, at the North coast of Costa Rica. This is the reason why in Ecogetaways Travel by Silvia, we decided to invite this outstanding property into our Eco-Luxury Hotel collection.

Sustainable Vision:

I completely love that it’s owner, Stephen Tollé originally from Switzerland, just remodeled the property in December 2016 with a great sustainable vision designed by the talented Costa Rican architect Donald Loria Prendas, integrating solar panels, energy savings systems, recycling and supporting the community of Nosara with educational programs.

The property also has a philosophy of plastic free, since they dont use straws in their beverages and provide glass bottles. Isn’t it wonderful?

Wellness: the property is located in a Blue Zone of Costa Rica and the World: Nicoya Peninsula, famous for it’s longevity and a happy and healthy lifestyle of it’s citizens, where you can enjoy yoga, delicious treatments at Vista manglares Spa and a super sustainable gastronomy.
Adventure: stand up paddle boarding, zip line, horseback riding, mangrove and ocean kayak and of course: great surfing from beginners to the most advanced levels at Guiones beach.
Birdwatching: the Hotel has it’s own private nature reserve of 36 hectares where you can take a guided tour or go by your own and be able to admire more than 147 species of birds.
Nature: just at 7 Km from the Hotel, you can find Ostional Wildlife Refuge which is a privileged beach for Olive Ridley sea turtle nesting, along with Leatherback and Pacific Green sea turtles, that arrive from mid june to december.
I totally recommend doing snorkeling tours at the enchanting Rosada and San Juanillo beaches, or just relax at Garza or Barrigona beach, favorite places as well for famous artists as Mel Gibson and Lady Gaga among others.

If you want to be blown away, book the room I stayed: Flor Blanca Luxurious and Lush suite, which have inspiring views of the sea.
The property has a perfect infinite pool, great for families and adults a smaller pool with temperate water and a jacuzzi. You can refresh yourself, have a cocktail and admire this spectacular setting.
And finally, my favorite part of the Hotel is Gecko Lounge a super chic and fashion area to see the most dramatic sunsets. It shares the same breathtaking views as Chirriboca, the main restaurant and La Arribada conferences and meeting center, where you can find a divine wine cellar ideal for a romantic dinner or offer a great event, since it has video beam, flat screen and everything you need for a top of notch event.
