I have seen hotels that claim to sustainable, but very few are the ones that really vibrate with sustainability at all levels. My sincere regards to the amazing Hotel Tropico Latino that recently invited me to their lovely property in Santa Teresa, where I felt completely captivated and identified with their authentic philosophy.
Santa Teresa is without a doubt a destination full of magic in Costa Rica, which allows the traveler to reconnect with their deepest essence in one of the most paradisiacal and spectacular beaches we have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Located in the heart of the Nicoya Peninsula and currently one of the five most sought Blue Zones in the world, its easy to understand why this is one of the favorite places for famous artists for the enjoyment of the infinite benefits of Wellness Tourism, and very recently, an area of inspiration for prestigious brands of the level of Chanel for their search and promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
Roberto de La Ossa, General Manager of the hotel, who has a very sustainable oriented lifestyle, transmit and integrate this passion into the Hotel and shared with me deep insights of how he achieved it. An efficient recycling program where the visitors can get integrated, the use of bamboo straws in every cocktail of the restaurant and a policy of hiring local people are some of the responsible practices Roberto manage at the property.
Sustainable- Wellness is the concept that I dared to name the experience I lived at the Natural Spa! I highly recommend the 90-minute treatment called Tropical Body Glow, which consists of a coconut scrub exfoliation, with a delicious wrap of papaya, carrot and honey. All these organic products, exclusive from this magic and desired Blue Zone of Costa Rica. The incomparable experience, ends with a delicate facial and a relaxing massage with coconut oil and essences of vanilla, apple and cinnamon that gave our skin a super hydrated and radiant glow, to finally get a heavenly feeling of relaxation and pure bliss.
Finally, the highlight of my stay definitely was the impressive Gastronomy at Shambala Restaurant. I get pampered daily by the brilliant Randy Siles, the Hotel Executive Chef and current National Ambassador of the Sustainable and Healthy Costa Rican Gastronomy Concept.
In my next article, I will share in detail all the great job Randy is doing and some examples of his impressive gastronomic art. Stay tuned to see my new Blog sessions named ‘’Top Chefs of Costa Rica ’’ to learn about the latest creations, lifestyle and news about the most sophisticated and innovative culinary experts of the country.
Pura Vida!
